Hennessy Auctioneers’ monthly collective machinery auction took place on Saturday 20 September, where a 2011 John Deere 6630 showing 4,345 hours commanded the highest sale price, selling for €39,400 plus VAT and commission.

There was a huge entry of 865 lots, similar to August’s monthly sale. Clearance rates for both the live and following timed auction tallied at 90%, with over 2,000 bidders tuned in to follow Saturday’s proceedings.

Following the sale-topping John Deere 6630 was a 2017 Case IH Maxxum 110 model with 5,099 hours and shod on block-type, non-agricultural tyres which sold for €27,000 plus VAT. A 2017 Case IH Farmall 95 displaying 3,990 hours was next in line selling at €28,500 plus VAT. Both models were not fitted with pickup hitches.

Other highlight sale prices included a 1999 Valtra 8450 which sold for €20,000 plus VAT; a 2020 Grass Technology GT100 zero grazing machine which sold for €19,500; an Armer Salmon double-row beet harvester which sold for €19,250 plus VAT.

A Kverneland six-furrow reversible plough sold for €15,500, a 26ft tandem axle livestock trailer sold for €15,050, a 2016 Rauch Axis 3t fertiliser spreader seated on a Cross Engineering bogey sold for €15,000 plus VAT; and a 2020 Overum five-furrow reversible plough sold for €14,600 plus VAT.

Only lots listed as ‘plus VAT’ were subject to VAT, all other lots had no VAT. Commission was charged at 5% on top of the prices quoted and subject to a maximum fee of €1,000 per item.
