Tom and Thomas Kenny enjoyed a truly memorable day at the South of Ireland Suffolk Sheep Society all-Ireland finals at Dundalk Agricultural Show on Sunday 14 June, taking home both the champion and reserve champion titles.
Sponsored by Connolly’s Red Mills, the championships attracted some of the finest Suffolk sheep from across the island.
Claiming the supreme title under judge Jason Watson of the Bannview Flock was the powerful shearling ewe Kenny's Princess.
A daughter of Carony Candyman who is by Rhaeadr Rockshore, her dam is a Ballynacanon ewe by Lakeview Fury.
She pipped her comrade Kenny's Elegance into reserve, a ewe lamb out of the 75,000gns Cairnton Chaos and a Ballynacanon ewe sired by Claycrop Classy Boy.
Class winners
Martin O’Reilly of the Oreo Flock picked up a first prize ticket with his stock ram Finnvale Bazooka. Sired by Finnvale Am The Man and out of a ewe by Claycrop Cactus Jack, he was purchased at the Premier Sale in 2023.
The aged ewe class was won by A and P O’Keeffe with a tremendous ewe sired by Ballinatone BT Buddy and out of a dam by Castleisle Kilteskin Prince. This ewe is from the same line as the 20,000gns Annakisha Bright Eye and Annakisha Champ.
In the novice ram lamb class, there was further success for Thomas Kenny, taking first and second place with ET brothers out of Cairnton Chaos and a Ballynacanon ewe by Claycrop Classy Boy.
The open ram lamb class was fiercely competitive, with Patrick O’Keeffe taking top spot with a double five-star lamb out of Ballynacanon Coldplay and a Burnview ewe purchased at the Burnview dispersal.
This young lamb then went on to stand as overall male champion, with Charlie Bourke's second-prizewinner from the same class following him through to claim the reserve male champion. A son of Limestone Double Diamond, his mother is an Oakbridge ewe by Solwaybank King Williams.
Three sisters
The novice ewe lamb class saw a clean sweep by Thomas Kenny, with three ET sisters taking first, second and third. Out of the same flush as the novice ram lamb winner, the first-prizewinning lamb from this class was ultimately crowned reserve overall champion.

Susan O’Keeffe dominated the untrimmed ewe lamb class, taking home the first and second prize rosettes.
The winner of this class was out of Limestone Dream Maker and a Blackbrae AB President dam which was reserve female champion at the 2025 all-Ireland championships.
