There was a small entry of high-quality Vendéen sheep forward for show on Saturday in Athenry. Judges Amélie Niel and Clément Guérin travelled all the way from France for the event.
Their 2025 All-Ireland champion and male champion came in the form of a super ram lamb from Cheryl O’Brien’s Quitrent flock. Quitrent Darian was sired by homebred ram Quitrent Seymour and his dam was also a homebred ewe, Quitrent Weslyn.
Overall reserve champion and female champion was awarded to Thomas Bowers’ flashy ewe lamb Kiltoom Devine. Devine’s pedigree was also strong, being sired by Ballinascraw Ben and her dam being a Quitrent-bred ewe.

Reserve male champion went to Andrew Gilmore’s stock ram Sessiagh Brett and reserve female champion went to Cheryl O’Brien’s senior ewe, Quitrent Whitley.
