A pair of Golden Vale farms are slated for auction in early September. Auctioneer Richard Ryan of GVM Auctioneers will have a busy afternoon on Friday 12 September as both will be sold via a combined public auction in Kilmallock Mart, and the online version will be conducted on the LSL platform.
First up at noon, will be a 35.5ac residential holding at Millmount, Kilmallock, Co Limerick. Guided at €500,000 this is an executor sale. All in permanent pasture, this land is excellent quality.
The River Loobagh runs along the entire southern and western boundary of the holding and the main Cork to Dublin railway line divides the land in two.
An underpass connects the land on either side of the rail line which runs along a generous stretch of the boundary, enhancing both the landscape and natural water.
The residence is on the roadside and consists of a single-storey farmhouse that requires refurbishment. To the rear of the house there is a cattle pen and crush as well as some outbuildings and a two-bay hay shed.
At 3pm that afternoon, a residential farm at Drombeg, Athlacca, Kilmallock goes under the hammer. Consisting of 64ac, it is offered in its entire or in lots and has good road frontage. It is being guided in the region of €10,000/ac.
Lot 1 contains 59.5ac laid out in seven well sheltered fields, it is all in grass and the Morningstar river flows along the southern boundary.
The house and yard on 4.5ac are offered in Lot 2. The residence is a traditional farmhouse which is maintained in good decorative order throughout. Within the yard there is a hay shed with lean-to sheds, an open slurry pit and a number of other smaller buildings.
