It’s understood that progress has been made following last week’s public auction of a 158-acre residential farm at Lisgoold, Leamlara, Co Cork.

Once home to a dairy operation, the farm has been used to graze drystock over the past number of years and came with a two-storey farmhouse and a range of farm buildings.

Before a full house, selling agent Daniel Fleming, Blarney, offered the farm in three lots at last week’s public auction in the Vienna Woods Hotel, Glanmire.

The first lot, comprising the house and yard on circa 92 acres, received an opening bid of €600,000, while the remaining circa 66 acres peaked at €510,000 with the help of three active bidders. There was no bid on the entire. With no further movement, Daniel withdrew both lots and entered private negotiations with a number of interested parties. At the time of going to press, no deal had been agreed for either lot but it’s understood that good progress had been made. The property had been guided at €10,000 to €11,000/acre prior to auction.

The 92 acres at Reisk, Ballincurrig, Leamlara, came with a two-storey three-bed residence and a range of farm buildings that included a disused milking parlour, a cubicle shed with 80 spaces and a slatted unit.

Situated a short distance away, the remaining 66 acres at Leadington, Lisgoold is laid out in paddocks and features a strip of woodland and a cattle crush. It was used in the past for point-to-point races.
