Auctioneer Christy Buckley, Ballinhassig, wrapped up the private sale of three farms in recent months.

First up was an 80-acre non-residential farm at Skehanagh, Doneraile, Co Cork, which went to the market last spring by private treaty.

Currently in grass, the property came with dual road frontage and a small farmyard. It was bought in recent months by a neighbouring farmer for a figure believed to be in the region of the €10,000/acre guide price.

Elsewhere, a 34-acre parcel of grazing ground at Moulrane, Grenagh, Co Cork, was secured by a dairy farmer from the vicinity for a figure believed to be in excess of €9,000/acre.

Meanwhile, a 45-acre residential holding at Lisbealad, Dunmanway, Co Cork, sold in two lots for a figure in the region of €460,000.

The land, which is described as a “nice parcel of grazing ground” came with a derelict residence and a traditional farmyard. The buyers were two local farmers.
