It’s being sold by Hodnett Forde Property Services by private treaty. It’s an executor sale and the guide price is €950,000-€1m.
Ballymakeera is on the N22 linking Cork city to Killarney. The farm is located at Knockanure, about 2km outside the village on the local road L3409. That puts it 14km from Macroom, 33km from Killarney and about 50km from Cork city. The farm is 500m from the new Macroom to Killarney bypass.
This is a grassland area with plenty of elevated free-draining land. The farm for sale is mostly good land in good condition. A portion would benefit from improvement work. The farm has some 800m of road frontage on the L3409 and on a side road coming off it.
Farmyward layout and housing
The farmhouse and yard are together and set back a short distance from the public road, up a private lane.
The farmyard has two slatted sheds. These date back to the 1980s but have been well maintained and are in good working condition.
