53.5-acre farm still under negotiation

A residential property of circa 53.5 acres at Foulksrath, Jenkinstown and Shanganny, Conahy, Co Kilkenny, still remains under negotiation after being withdrawn last week. The holding, which was brought to auction by Joseph Coogan, is being offered in four lots. The first lot, a circa 20-acre parcel with a residence in need of slight renovation was withdrawn at €200,000. The second parcel is a productive 17.5-acre holding that has been previously used for tillage. This was bid to €150,000. The third lot, a combination of the first two parcels including the residence, was bid to €400,000. The fourth lot of circa 16 acres was bid to €100,000. Offers on lot three and four have since increased. It is understood that interested parties have viewed the property this week.

Auctioneer Joseph Coogan said that he was optimistic there would be a sale in the coming weeks.

Joseph is also handling the sale of a fine residential farm of top-quality land at Ballyfinnan, Co Laois. The auction takes place on 20 October at The Auction Room Ballycomey House, Castlecomer Co Kilkenny.

In addition, on 21 November, Joseph Coogan is selling 44 acres with road frontage in Coolderry, Ballacolla Co Loais.
