Patrick Coveney, Greencore CEO and brother of Agriculture Minister Simon, has been appointed to the board of Glanbia plc as a non-executive director. Glanbia’s John Moloney accepted a similar position on the Greencore board last year. Coveney has proven an able operator since succeeding David Dilger at Greencore, with improving share performance reflecting the gradual consolidation of the business.

Greencore now employs 12,000 people with revenues last year of £1.2bn, but it has almost totally removed itself from the Irish economy.
