A Chartered Certified Accountant by profession, Flynn is currently a non-executive director of ARYZTA AG and Grafton Group plc, having previously served terms in a similar board capacity with Irish Life and UDG Healthcare plc (formerly United Drug).

Flynn's appointment to the Dairygold Board follows from the scheduled retirement of John Malone, former secretary general, Department of Agriculture from the board. She becomes the second non-executive director alongside fellow non-executive Dan Flinter, a former CEO of Enterprise Ireland, on the twelve-person Dairygold Board.

Career

Originally from Teergay, near Macroom, County Cork, Annette graduated with a Batchelor of Commerce Degree from University College Cork in 1987, before qualifying as an accountant (FCCA) and later as a Chartered Director with the Institute of Directors, UK & Ireland.

In her early career Flynn worked with Kerry Group plc in a financial capacity in Ireland, the UK and the USA, culminating in her role as Kerry Group’s Corporate Controller in North America, before moving back to Ireland.

Since returning to Ireland in 1996 Annette has built her executive career with UDG Healthcare Plc (UDG) (€1.7bn turnover business), initially leading Group strategy, finance and technology functions and progressing to managing UDG businesses in the UK, continental Europe and the United States. She was appointed an Executive Board member of UDG in 2004, resigning from her executive role with the company in 2011, moving on to develop a portfolio of non-executive directorships.
