A 73.5ac farm in Co Clare was sold at auction in recent days by joint agents Pat Considine Auctioneers and Munster Property Auctions.
The farm, lying in one block, is at Toonagh, near Tulla. It has a two storey house and a number of outbuildings. The house is in good condition. It made €985,000.
Co Wicklow auctioneers O’Neill Flanagan completed the sale of a 32ac residential farm at Ballinabarny, Greenane, Rathdrum, in lots.
Lot 1, the house on 1ac, sold for €150,000. The stone built, three roomed house has been unoccuplied and needs full renovation and modernisation. There is a small farmyard with two stone outbuildings alongside.
Lot 2, which was 8.3ac, sold for €156,000. This was described by the agents as a dry parcel of land suitable for many uses.
Lot 3, 22.7ac, sold for €200,000. This was also dry land suitable for many uses.
Connaughton Auctioneers based in Co Roscommon sold 25.57ac at Lisnagree, Caltra, Co Galway, also in lots. The land is located on the Mountbellew to Caltra road.
Lot 1, which is 16.15ac with a derelict house, made €185,000. This was described as excellent-quality land fronting on to two roads and it also has a cattle pen and crush. Lot 2, 9.42ac of good-quality land, sold for €72,000.
Jordan Auctioneers had a good result from the auction of 46ac at Knockdromagh, Myshall, Co Carlow. Bidding opened at €400,000 and was driven up to €600,000 by two bidders, at which stage the property went on the market. The same two bidders continued to bid until the land was finally knocked down at €830,000. The selling price was equal to just over €18,000/ac. The buyer has equine business interests.
The property is located near Garryhill and is close to Bagenalstown, Fenagh and Borris. It includes a house which is in need of substantial upgrade and an extensive farmyard. The sheds include two three-bay haysheds, a four-bay hayshed with a lean-to and five boxes, another barn with five boxes, a cattle pen and crush. The land, all in grass, is described as top quality with no waste.
