Scituate, a seaside town 30 miles from Boston, has been named the most Irish town in the United States, according to the US census. Scituate, located on Cape Cod bay, has a total population of over 17,000 with almost 50% of residents coming from Irish descent. The data shows that the South Shore’s “Irish Riviera” hasn’t significantly changed since the last census in 1990. Irish Americans continue to dominate the large majority of suburban Boston.
