Roscommon Mart is playing host to a dispersal sale of 36 suckler cows on behalf of Thomas Nestor on Saturday 10 October at 1pm.

The sale of cows is being offered as a complete dispersal sale, with the majority of cows being young first- and second-calvers. All cows will be scanned with details on the day. They have been running with a hybrid bull.

Speaking to the Irish Farmers Journal, mart manager Tony Conroy said: “This is as good of a dispersal sale as we have offered. Tom has spent years building his herd up with some top genetics. It’s sad to see a herd of this quality being sold but Tom has decided to take a step back from farming.

"This sale offers a super opportunity for existing farmers or young farmers looking to expand to acquire some top genetics that will be sure to put a stamp on any herd.

“It’s a young herd of cows with some super quality calves at foot. There is a mixture of Limousin and Belgian Blue-cross genetics throughout the herd, with plenty of cows carrying four or five stars. Anyone looking for a preview can head to our socials, where we have videos and photos of the available lots.”
