GSK in Ireland recruiting for graduates

Did you know that 7.5bn Panadol tablets and 50m NiQuitin patches are produced in Dungarvan, Co Waterford annually?

They are produced in the GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) plant in the town. GSK is a research-based pharmaceutical and healthcare company which employs 1,800 people across its four Irish facilities.

The Cork operation produces the active ingredients for a range of GSK products used to treat depression, diabetes, congestive heart failure, HIV, cancer, Parkinson’s disease and arthritis. While the Sligo facility – Stiefel, a GSK company – produces 30m skin healthcare products annually. The Dublin base is home to GSK’s pharmaceuticals and consumer healthcare businesses.

The reason GSK has made its way onto these pages, however, is because it is recruiting three graduates for its “Future Leaders Programme”. Candidates from the areas of quality, electrical engineering and process/chemical engineering are sought and they will be rotated across different functions of the business, while being supported by formal learning and coaching.

GSK says it has a strong commitment to diversity throughout all of its development and recruitment programmes. In the UK, females account for over 50% of all the Future Leader graduate programmes at GSK, which is significantly higher than the industry average of 16% into science, technology, engineering, and math careers.

The closing date for applications is 20 May. Online applications are now being accepted at ie.gsk.com/ie/careers/graduates
