The Irish Charollais Sheep Society stand will be located in the National Sheep Breeders Tunnel at this year’s Ploughing Championships. The stand will feature a selection of pedigree and commercial Charollais sheep and will be maned for the three days by committee members and breeders who will be happy to answer questions and give information about the breed. Society Year Books with photos and interesting articles from the years gone-by will be available to the public to take away to learn more about the breed.

This year marks 25 years for the Society in Ireland. Within this time, the Society has grown to a membership of over 220 flocks located across all 26 counties. To become a member you must have a flock of five registered females.

Society ram sales are in full swing across the country. All sheep sold through these sales are registered and inspected by the Society. A large percentage of these sheep are also star rated with Sheep Ireland and will meet the requirements for STAP.

The Society will also be holding a number of female sales throughout October and November in Tullow Mart. These sales will feature a selection of in-lamb ewes and ewe lambs from some of the top flocks in the country.
