The National Council of Rural Advisers has set out two key areas of its remit: the implications of Brexit and the future of rural Scotland.

“It was a very positive meeting. The Cabinet Secretary gave us an overview of the background to his vision for the group and what success meant to him,” co-chair Alison Milne told Farmers Journal Scotland.

“Our focus will be on the long-term rural development plan for Scotland all the way from the primary sector to tourism and the environment.”
