Whole-fat milk sales were up by 7.1%, which supported the overall increase because low-fat milk sales fell during the same period.

Lactose-free and flavoured milk have sustained their 26.5% and 11.1% respective growth into 2016.

Overall US cheese retail sales volumes were up by 6.6% year to date. This is the tenth consecutive month of sales volume increase.

Whole-fat and reduced fat cheese sales grew by 7.4% and 0.8% respectively.

Yogurt sales volumes were also up for the tenth consecutive month in January. There was a 1.7% increase in overall sales, where Greek yogurt increased sales by 7%.

Like fluid milk and cheese, whole-fat yogurt sales trended upwards, growing by 20.7% compared to the previous year.
