Joe Sinnott ensured he’ll be in the good books for a while by surprising his girlfriend Sarah Clare and entering our Dubarry makeover.

“I was delighted as we never do anything like this,” says Sarah. “I love fashion but Joe is a bit more laid-back about clothes.”

Joe is from Craanford, Co Wexford, while Sarah hails from Shillelagh, Co Wicklow. The couple have been together for almost five years. He works as a secondary school teacher and also farms part-time at home with his parents and brother. Sarah is a nurse in Beaumount Hospital.

The pair rarely shop together, but have liked the Dubarry brand since visiting their tent at the Ploughing last year.

“The clothes are good quality and we both like the country look,” says Joe.

Established in 1937, Dubarry is an Irish-owned company, best known for deck shoes and leather GORE-TEX lined sailing and country boots. The design team are based in Ballinasloe and create collections using tweed and leather for marine and country lifestyles.

The pair received two looks and were styled in Dubarry’s flagship store in College Green, Dublin, which opened in 2012. Dubarry is stocked in outlets throughout the country and clothes can also be purchased online.
