Elligott on a Tiger Roll as NH season swings into action
As the national hunt season swings into top gear, Gordon Elliott has his team in terrific shape following a week that yielded nine winners in four days for the trainer.
Gordon Elliott took the wraps off several of his best horses in recent days with the Triumph Hurdle hero Tiger Roll making a winning return to action at Cheltenham on Saturday. Tougher tests await the four-year-old but he could become a Champion Hurdle contender. The Elliott-trained Don Cossack also made a successful return to the fray in a Grade 3 chase at Punchestown last Thursday. A talented novice chaser, Don Cossack should have an industrious campaign at graded level.
Also worth a mention is Little King Robin who has developed into a standard bearer for the Colin Bowe yard. In recording a first blacktype success in the Listed Grabel Mares Hurdle at Punchestown, the daughter of King’s Theatre was making it six wins from her last seven starts over hurdles.
