Ballinasloe Horse Fair is Europe’s oldest horse fair, dating back to the 18th century. The annual event attracts up to 80,000 visitors from all over the world, with many returning to the town year after year. Taking place on Saturday 10 November, the festival is one of the most important social and economic events in the life of the town. Events include an equestrian parade, live music on the festival stage, street entertainment, soap box racing, a fireworks display, street tug of war, a craft market and a dog show.
