Lisa McHugh will conduct a series of meet-and-greet sessions in the coming days to coincide with the launch of her new album, Country, on the Sharpe Music label in Tyrone.
The first of the signing sessions will be in Downtown Records in Castlebar on Friday 12 August at 2.30pm. She will be in Stewart’s Music Shop, Dungannon (performance and signing), on Saturday 13 August. Lisa will also conduct signing sessions in Trax Records, Tullamore, on Wednesday 17 August, Multisound, Cavan, on Thursday 18 August, and Tesco in Limavaddy on Saturday 20 August.
Pat and Kevin bereaved
Condolences are tendered to Pat McKenna, former winner of the Irish Farmers Journal traditional country album of the year award (Songs From The Heartland), and his wife Mary on the recent death of Mary’s brother Jimmy Daly, a well-known farmer in Greencastle, Co Tyrone.
Country music followers also extend sympathy to Kevin Lalor-Fitzpatrick, who hosts a popular country show on Midlands Radio, on the death of his mother Millie in Raheen, Co Laois.
Cahir on song
Cahir House Hotel will host its annual fundraiser in support of various causes on Tuesday 6 September. This year the beneficiaries are Cappawhite Senior Citizens and the Tipperary branch of the Irish Wheelchair Association. The venture is again being organised by Caroline Walshe.
Among those taking part will be Robert Mizzell, Gerry Guthrie, Cliona Hagan, Dominick and Barry Kirwan, Kathy Durkin, Niamh Lynn, Honky Tonk Angels, Damien Bowe, Crystal Swing, Keelan, Sharon Turley, Andreas Durkin, Matt Leavy, Lorraine and Keith McDonald, Bachelors in Trouble, Madcap, and Tom Cooper. The Ryan Turner Band will provide the music for all the acts.

The annual John McNicholl Dancing Weekend will be held in the Clanree Hotel in Letterkenny this year.
