The Acoustic Yard

6-8 May: While primarily held in the Townhall Theatre, Westport, Co Mayo, there will also be events taking place around the town. The monthly event features some of the finest songwriters from around the world and has been setup not only as a concert but as an educational workshop for audience and player alike. Artists confirmed for the festival include Declan O’Rourke, Bap Kennedy, Anna Mitchell, Craig and Willoughby, Kathleen Turner, Teresa Storch, Jeff Brown, Daithi Rua, Zia Land, Gerry Creen, Derek McGowan and Grainne Hunt along with many more.

I Saw the Light

6 May: This is the story of the country-western singer Hank Williams who, in his brief life, created one of the greatest bodies of work in American music. The film chronicles his rise to fame and its tragic effect on his health and personal life.
