Following a 12-year run in the Irish Limousin Cattle Society, Paul Sykes has made the decision to leave.
Having initially started as a breed development officer, his work and commitment made him the obvious choice when it came to filling the role of breed secretary.
He was held in very high esteem by many UK and overseas buyers, which no doubt helped boost the society's premier sales over the years.
Number one suckler dam
During his time as secretary, he has maintained the breed’s position as the number one suckler dam in Ireland.
One of the biggest highlights in recent years was when the society hosted the Limousin World Congress in 2016. This attracted over 300 guests from 20 countries, with Paul being a key factor in Ireland being selected as the host country.
He has helped many Irish pedigree breeders during his time in the society and will be deeply missed.
We're sure this isn't the end of the story and have no doubt that Paul and his partner Mary will still fly the Limousin flag with their Cavelands herd, based outside Ballyhaunis, Co Mayo.
