A 94ac block of good-quality land has come on the market in Co Kildare. The farm is at Ballyvarney which is about midway between Nurney and Kildangan. The location is near the towns of Kildare and Monasterevin. It’s close to the M7 and M9 motorways. It has been brought to the market by Sherry Fitzgerald.

Farm layout

The land is now mostly in grass with some of the fields in stubble. Previously all of the land has been used for tillage. There is little road frontage.

This is good-quality land. The farm is partly in grass and partly in tillage.

Instead, the land is accessed by a long tree-lined avenue off the L7055 road. The farm is laid out in six divisions. There is no residence or yard. The avenue is part of the holding and will be acquired with the land.

Equine connections

The auctioneers point out that the surrounding area is renowned for the quality of farmland and that Kildangan Stud is nearby, which produces some of the best racehorses in the world. The farm is also convenient to the Curragh and Punchestown racecourse.

The avenue into the land is tree-lined and is a very attractive feature in itself.

The farm will be sold in an online auction on the 19 May at 12pm. According to Sherry Fitzgerald the asking price is €950,000 which is the equivalent of €10,100/ac.
