A 35ac residential farm at Dunmore, Co Galway, was sold at auction by Paul Lafferty Ltd. The farm, at Carnagur, sold in lots to one buyer for €320,000.

The buyer was a local person with farming and business interests.

In advance of the sale, Paul Lafferty also auctioned a 1976 Massey Ferguson 135, which he described as “running well”. It made €3,400.

Successful sales for Quinn Property

Quinn Property sold 49ac at Slad, Tagoat, Co Wexford, in an online auction last week. Eight individuals took part in the auction.

Lot 1, which was 31ac, was bid to €380,000. Lot 2, which was 17ac, was bid to €180,000. The entire was then bid to €690,000, and knocked down. The buyer was a local farmer with business interests.

Quinn Property also sold land at Kereight, Enniscorthy, at auction last week. The guide price for the 14.6ac was €10,000/ac. Four bidders took part and the land was sold at €190,000. The buyer was a local business woman.

Roscommon land sells well

Connaughton Auctioneers sold a 71ac farm at Curraghboy for €495,000 or €6,975/ac at auction. Lot A, which was 69ac, sold for €465,000 and lot B, which was 2ac, sold for €30,000.

Connaughton Auctioneers also recently sold 13.3ac with an old cottage at Aghmagree, Co Roscommon. It sold in lots for a total of €271,000 or €20,374/ac.

One buyer, a local person returning to the area, bought lots A, B and C for €225,000. These were:

  • The residence on 2.85ac
  • A parcel of 3.65ac
  • A parcel of 4.98ac.
  • The balance of the land, 1.96ac, was sold for €46,000.
  • Clare land sells for €6,100/ac

    Also recently, REA James Lee sold 27ac at Clonlara, Co Clare, for €6,100/ac. The property opened at €100,000 and two bidders brought the bidding to €150,000 in €10,000 increments. It then went in eight farming interests.
