Volkswagen has confirmed the price for the new Golf estate, which will be €1,000 more than the price of the 5-door hatchback model. The new model will cost from €22,280 and will be available with the same trim and engine choices as the Golf hatchback.
The range starts with the 1.2 TSI petrol version rated at 85bhp with a 5-speed manual gearbox. This engine is also available with an output of 110bhp, where it comes with the choice of 6-speed manual or 7-speed DSG.
Diesel still remains the favoured choice for Irish Golf customers and with the estate there is a choice of 1.6-litre 90bhp, 1.6-litre 110bhp and 2.0-litre 150bhp. All three of these Golf estate versions are in motor tax Band A3 (€190 annual tax) when fitted with a manual gearbox.

With a 605-litre cargo capacity, which can expand out to 1,620-litres with the seats folded flat the Golf estate gives the car a generous load-carrying capacity. The new estate car is available from €299 on Personal Contract Plan (PCP) regardless of whether you choose Trendline, Comfortline or Highline.
