The Cut Loose Country Music Festival will be staged at Holycross GAA grounds in Co Tipperary on Sunday, 15 July.
It has become one of the premier country festivals of the summer since its inauguration six years ago. The trip to Tipp is a winner alright.
This year the committee is sparing no effort in promoting the big festival, which has become a central player on the entertainment and social life calendar of the region.
Location plays a major role in attracting country followers and Holycross, just a few miles out the road from Thurles and also a few miles off the main Dublin to Cork motorway, has proven to be an ideal location for this summer celebration.
Nathan Carter, whose career has soared in spectacular fashion in the last three years, is among the headline acts at the Holycross Festival this summer.
Speaking to Nathan in Torremolinos, Spain, last week, he said he was delighted to be part of so many shows during the summer season, including the Cut Loose Festival in Tipperary.
“They always organise a great festival in Holycross. It is a superbly run event and I am delighted to be part of it.
"They know how to run open-air shows down there in Tipperary,” said Nathan who was on vacation in Torremolinos with his brother, Jake.
They called by on three nights to the Enjoy Travel April in Andalucía annual music holiday venture in the Amaragua Hotel, to lend support to Gerry Flynn and his company who gave Nathan his very first break during their Ibiza sessions back around 2007.
Nathan mingled with the crowds and performed a few songs at the nightly sessions in the main bar hosted by Mick Mackey from Clonmel.
The bill
Sharing the bill in Tipperary with Nathan will be Michael English, fresh from his successful concert shows in Liverpool and Birmingham, Derek Ryan from Carlow who always goes down a treat at the festival, Jimmy Buckley who has been part of the Cut Loose Festival on a regular basis, Louise Morrissey who will be flying the flag for her home county of Tipperary, and emerging star Cliona Hagan, who will make the long journey down from Tyrone to be part of the big day at Holycross.
Galway based band, The Conquerors, will once again provide the best of music for all the artists on the day.
Michael Lowry, organiser of the festival, says: “We have delivered upon six outstanding country music festivals so far and 2018 will be no different.
“We have confirmed a terrific lineup that we are confident will attract festival-goers from around the country and abroad.
"This family festival will once again be among the country festival highlights this summer.”
This is family friendly event, welcoming children under-12 to the festival for free when accompanied by an adult. Tickets, priced at just €20 plus booking fee, are available online at tickets.ie and at all SuperValu and Centra Stores nationwide.
The event takes place at Holycross Ballycahill GAA Club, Holycross.
The committee will also have a big screen in operation to cater for GAA fans who would like to keep an eye on the big games taking place on the day.
