Almost 5,700 farmers still face having their 2017 GLAS payments delayed until their nutrient management plans (NMPs) are submitted.

Latest figures from the Department of Agriculture have confirmed that as of Friday, 27 October, 5,680 NMPs were outstanding.

Those farmers’ 2016 GLAS I and GLAS II balancing payments cannot be made until an NMP is submitted.

“In addition, outstanding NMPs will prevent the payment of future GLAS payments including the 2017 advance payment,” the Department warned.
