The Greenhills Hotel in Limerick has long been a regular Thursday night dance venue in the midwest. Michael English and his band make a return visit there on Thursday, 28 August. Also watch out for a big 21st anniversary night with Glór Tire winner Michael Collins and special guest Louise Morrissey at The Greenhills on Thursday, 18 September.

Paddy O’Brien is putting the finishing touches to his latest album. The Waterford man will host a launch night later in the year. The prolific recording artist and his new band will play The Times Hotel in Tipperary Town on Sunday night, 24 August.

John Burns hails from Maghera in Co Derry and has recorded a number of albums in support of local causes in the south Derry region. He is a great singer of Elvis Presley songs and he showcased this on his album, Back Home Again, which contains eight Elvis numbers.

The new single from young Tyrone singer Lee Matthews is a self-penned number called There’s Irish In Our Eyes. Lee is being managed by Paul Tinney.

Liam Mannering maintains his busy schedule. His latest single, The Rose In her Hair, is picking up plenty of airplay.

After an absence of some months, Donncha Ó Dúlaing is due to make his comeback to the popular RTÉ Radio One programme Failte Isteach on Saturday night, 7 September. Aonghus McAnally has been presenting the show while Donncha was out due to illness.

There was a large gathering for the launch of Brendan Magee’s album, Second Time Around, in the Ballroom of Romance in Glenfarne last week. The Leitrim ballroom, sitting close to the Cavan border, was alive with the sound of music as Brendan and friends presented a great show.
