HSI’s Norah Byrnes retires
After 42 hard-working years with
the Department of Agriculture, the 24 most recent of which was on
secondment to the studbook in
the Horse Board and Horse Sport Ireland, Norah Byrnes has retired.
At a hugely-attended party in Lock 13 at Sallins, Co Kildare, last Friday she was given a rousing
send-off at which she received high praise from both HSI interim Chairman Jim Beecher and CEO Ronan Murphy.

In reply, Norah showed her great appreciation for the help she received from her many colleagues down through the years.
“Those with HSI have been the happiest of my life”, she declared. Donna Craig was in charge of presenting Norah with a host of farewell gifts including an official passport to freedom.
