One of the first auctions of June is expected to be a well-attended and highly anticipated one as Ed Donohoe of Donohoe Properties, Kilkenny, offers Mount Loftus on 150 acres.

The property is being offered in five lots, located in the townlands of Pollagh, Tinnacouse and Tomnahaw, which is a rural farming hinterland sited just off the Graiguenamanagh-to-Kilkenny road.

The property is sited on approximately 150 acres of lands all laid out in grass, and presented in one main block in four divisions. The lands are good quality and well known as fattening pasture.

The first lot is circa 35.5 acres at Mount Loftus, Goresbridge. This lot contains good-quality grass land which was formerly part of the Mount Loftus House Estate. It is guided at €10,000/ac.

The second lot contains the residence, outbuildings and circa 90 acres at Pollagh, Skeoughvosteen. The land here has good frontage on to two roads. The fields are all in grass, and are of excellent quality with some nice tree-lined boundary fences. It is guided at €900,000 or €10,000/ac.

The other two individual lots are smaller. Lot three is nine acres at Pollagh, Skeoughvosteen, while lot four is circa 14 acres, at the same location.

These lands are in three divisions and are fronting on to the Goresbridge-Graiguenamanagh road. They are guided at €120,000 or €13,300/ac and €105,000 or €7,500/ac respectively.

The entire makes up lot five.

The property comprises a traditional two-storey farmhouse which was renovated in 1990. It is a three-bedroom house that is structurally sound but in need of modernisation. The guide for the entire is €1.5m.

The auction takes place at 3pm in the Clubhouse Hotel, Patrick St, Kilkenny.
