The base price for April milk in Kerry is 28.46c/l excluding VAT. This is a 2c/l cut on its March price of 30.36c/l excluding VAT.
Last month Kerry paid a 1.5 c/litre top up on January to March milk. For April this ‘top up’ is reduced to 1 c/litre (incl VAT).
Effectively, it means the returns to the farmer for April milk have been cut by 2.5 c/litre to 29.36 c/litre. Milk contracted to the Kerry fixed milk price offering is not eligible for the April ‘top-up’.
