There was a hectic auction last week for the 24ac at Deerepark, Foulksmills, Co Wexford, with the holding knocked down for €352,500 or €14,600/ac.

John Radford of Sherry Fitzgerald Radford said that a lively auction was expected as 12 individuals registered in advance to bid.

On the day, seven of them got involved in the sale and made a total of 40 bids.

The auction was held on the Offr platform and bidding got underway immediately it opened. Both the seller and buyer were happy with the outcome, John Radford said.

This land in Co Wexford made €14,600/ac in a busy online auction held by Sherry Fitzgerald Radford.

Laois land

In Co Laois, Hennessy Auctioneers have successfully sold two blocks of land by private treaty. One was 42ac of maturing broadleaf forestry. Lot 1 was 14ac and it sold for approximately €4,000/ac, lot 2 was 28ac and it sold in the same price region. The forestry was is 22 years old, planted in oak and sycamore and located on the Athy road from Stradbally.

John Hennessy has sold this 22-year-old broadleaf forestry for a price in the region of €4,000/ac.

John Hennessy also sold 25ac of farmland at Timahoe, Co Laois. The grassland is on the Timahoe to Swan road and needs some reclamation. It has sold for a price in the region of €7,500/ac.
