My first job was: Working in a newsagent’s in Tallaght from eight o’clock in the morning until six o’clock in the evening, Monday to Saturday. At the end of the week I was handed a 10 shilling note. I cried all the way home because I thought I’d get a fiver. Needless to say, I didn’t last long.

My first crush was: David Cassidy. I had a picture of him I had pulled out of Jackie Magazine and carefully stuck over my bed. Many a long conversation was had with that picture as I regaled him with songs sung into my Denman brush.

The person who most inspires me is: My dad. He taught me not to be afraid of hard work. Live within your means and always do the right thing. He always said: “Treat people as you would like them to treat you.”

The book I can read again and again is: The phonebook. Loads of really interesting characters, hard to follow at times.

The song that makes me feel 16 is: Puppy Love by the Osmonds. I thought it was the best song ever. I suppose they were the One Direction of my generation

My guilty pleasure is: Relaxing in the evening by the fire with an old black and white movie and a nice bottle of wine.

My signature dish is: I make a great pork and mustard casserole.

My favourite film is: Mrs Brown’s Boys D’Movie. Because I’m in it. They needed a bit of eye candy – that’s why I got the call.

My favourite place to escape from it all is: London. I love seeing the latest shows, doing a bit of shopping and meeting friends for a bite to eat. I love people watching, especially in Covent Garden.

The radio show I wake up to is: I listen to the lovely John Murray Show in the morning.

My favourite joke is: The wife asked me to take her somewhere she had never been – so I took her into the kitchen.

My make-up essential is: A trowel.
