This Saturday sees Ireland’s largest ever machinery auction take place at the Punchestown event centre in Kildare. The auction is being run by the FTMTA, with Paul Cooke Auctions looking after the logistics and actual auctioneering.
The auction will include in excess of 300 items ranging from the job lots of hydraulic hoses to some very high-value new or nearly new machines. A selection of 30 tractors will be sold on the day, from some collectors’ pieces to machines that will still be capable of getting though a serious day’s work.
Gary Ryan of the FTMTA expects a huge crowd on the day and the fact that the auction is completely unreserved will bring buyers from near and far. At the point of going to press there were 40 plus registered bidders from abroad and this number is expected to rise over the coming days.
