Farmec, the Irish importer of the Slovenian-built SIP Grass Harvesting Machinery range, is set to attend Grass 2026 where it will demonstrate models from the brand’s Silvercut mower range, Spider tedder series and Star rake lineup.
From the manufacturer’s wide range of front- and side-mounted mowers, Farmec will demonstrate the Silvercut Disc 300 S FSC rear model, which will be working in tandem with the 300 FSC front mower.
Both front and rear models offer a 2.9m working width and are fitted with SIP’s own cutter bar, which features seven discs and 14 quick-change blades.
SIP uses a hydro-pneumatic suspension system, its DDSS mechanical disc protection system. The DDSS protects each disc individually in the event of overload. Four brass pins shear, preventing further damage. The intensity of the conditioning unit is manually adjustable.
The rear mower features a sequential lift system whereby, when the mower bed is lifted, the inside of the cutterbar is lifted first for clearance purposes, followed by the outside.
Once mowing has completed, the SIP Spider R775/6 model tedder will be called into play. The Spider R775/6 is a six-rotor machine with an overall working width of 7.6m. SIP says that the innovative geometry of the rotors with spring tines of different lengths ensures optimal forage flow and even spreading. The spreading angle can be changed from 12 degrees to 18 degrees depending on the crop.

The STAR R770/24 rake has a maximum working width of 7.7m.
Both straight and hooked tines are offered. The SIP Smart Lift system automatically locks and additionally raises the external rotors during partial lifting, allowing greater ground clearance.
Taking part in the rake demonstration is the STAR R770/24 (6.8-7.70m) twin-rotor model and the larger R930/28 model. Features of each include hydraulic working width adjustment and mechanical rotor suspension. Working height is also mechanically adjusted. Electro-hydraulic separate rotor lift is optionally available.
Alongside a three-dimensional mounting system allowing free rotor movement, both rotor bogies feature front and rear walking tandem axles for optimal ground following. Providing added peace of mind, all SIP products are offered with a three-year comprehensive warranty.
