Sulky claims that the new Econov X40 and X50 fertilizer spreaders with working widths of up 44m and 50m respectively are easy to operate. The spreaders use the Sulky patented Epsilon spreading system, already used on the X36 and X44 versions, but on the new machines they are fitted with new blades and spreading discs.
Sulky claims that because these spreaders are capable of application rates of up to 520kg/min, they can be used for high-speed spreading. The spreaders are equipped as standard with the continuous weighing function for automatic calibration.
This Econov function makes it possible to vary shape of this fertilizer distribution area and adapt to the irregular shape of each field using GPS technology. Whether it involves spreading only on the extreme left or the extreme right of the distribution area, or behind the fertilizer spreader, Econov claims to constantly adapt using GPS technology. Power-assisted electric cylinders constantly change the fertilizer dropping point on the spreading discs, which in turn adjusts the distribution area to the shape of the plot of land.
Sulky concedes that precision fertilization of borders remains a major challenge.
With the Tribord 3D-i kit also fitted as standard, the adjustment of the dropping point above the border spreading disc claims to adapt automatically to the type of fertilizer to give improved accuracy.
Even with these features, Sulky claims that the Econov X40 and X50 spreaders are easy to adjust by using the free Fertitest online system on the Sulky-Burel website.
More than 500 types of fertilizer are listed on the website including Irish brands. Even if the product is not recognised, the Fertitest search function can provide for this by searching for similar products. The user can record his/her adjustment data on a simple SD memory card or USB stick.
When this card is placed in the spreader’s Vision console, with just one click the Econov X40/50 fertilizer spreader undergoes 100% automatic adjustment: dose, width and border and spreading can start.
The Sulky spreader range is available in Ireland from Farmec Ireland dealers. The entry price for the Econov X40 model, with a 1.9t capacity hopper, is from €25,000 including VAT.
