A clearance auction hosted by Hennessy Auctioneers on behalf of dairy farmer Canice Hyland on Saturday 11 May in Clough-Ballacolla, Co Laois, attracted a large crowd from across the country, with significant interest in the lots on offer, all of which were sold on the day.

VAT did not apply to any of the items that were on sale. Although all lots were subject to 5% commission plus 23% VAT on the commission with a max fee of €1,000 plus VAT per item.

A 2016 Claas Arion 630 CIS which attracted a lot of attention fetched a price of €54,230 including fees. The tractor had just 1,800 hours on the clock and was fitted with a Hexashift transmission.

A 2010 JCB TM310s wheel loader fitted with a “pin and cone” headstock had 6,900 hours on the odometer. It sold for a price of €31,730.
