The well-known Cork-based farm and garden machinery dealer, Atkins recently secured the Agri-DIY store of the year award at the annual Retail Excellence Ireland Awards 2025.
Of its four farm machinery and garden depots – Cork city (Carrigrohane Road), Bandon, Fermoy and Birr, Co Offaly – the winning store was the newly rebuilt premises in Bandon, making it the first agri-focused company to win the award.
Atkins Bandon was originally opened in 1982 to serve the west Cork area and to support the main outlet on the Carrigrohane Road. After more than 40 years, the decision was made to built a brand-new farm and garden machinery outlet on the same site.

The result was a state-of-the-art facility which opened in May earlier this year.
Atkins is the main Irish importer for brands such as Bredal and Bogballe brands and through its depots carries the franchises for brands including Fendt, Kubota, McHale, Pottinger and, more recently, JCB.
