Cheffins Auctions will offer more than 600 lots of agricultural machinery on behalf of Velcourt Farms, Britain’s largest farming business. The auction will take place in a timed online format.
This marks the second tranche of machinery to be offered for sale as part of the company’s strategic restructure, which was announced in September 2025.
The sale, which will take place online, will open on 1 September, with larger-scale machinery closing on 17 September followed by smaller workshop items closing on 18 September.
Items to go under the hammer have come from seven Velcourt farming bases throughout the country and follow the company’s announcement in autumn 2025 that it would reduce its contracting operations by around 20% to release capital and refocus investment into other areas of the farming business. The company has subsequently ceased operations on approximately 6,500 hectares following harvest, while taking on a further 4,500 hectares under different farming models.
The machinery on offer was used by Velcourt throughout the 2026 harvest and is now surplus to requirements. Available will be tractors, loaders, sprayers, vehicles, UTVs and general agricultural equipment, as well as workshop items and spares.
