The Co Armagh attachment manufacturer, MDE Machinery has sold its agricultural attachments portfolio to focus more heavily on excavator attachments.

The agricultural range has been acquired by Taylor Attachments, a British manufacturer based in Bristol. The move follows Taylor’s increased presence at LAMMA Show, where it showcased silage forks and compactors similar in design to MDE’s range.

In a statement issued by the firm, it highlighted challenges balancing agricultural and excavator attachments production for the past number of years, combined with the uncertainty of the agricultural market as reasons for exiting the sector.

The firm’s agricultural attachments range was best known to include the Falcon push-off silage fork, the Triton lightweight silage fork and the Warrior heavy-duty silage fork.

MDE was one of the first Northern Irish manufacturers to market in recent years with a solely built silage compactor.

In recent years, the business has rapidly expanded its range of excavator attachments which now includes several models of tree shears, grabs, grapples, grapple saws, mulchers etc.
