Austrian manufacturer Pöttinger is introducing a compact twin-rotor rake without a chassis, aimed towards livestock farmers.
The new Top V 6520 C offers a mechanically adjustable working width ranging from 5.9m to 6.5m, producing swaths from 1m to 1.6m in width.
It mounts to the tractor via a pivoting three-point linkage headstock, allowing the rake to follow the tractor in a similar manner to that of a trailed rake with a typical chassis and steering axle.
Mechanical stabiliser bars prevent the machine from swaying side to side during operation.
The rotors are freely suspended in order to provide three-dimensional ground tracking.
A multitast jockey wheel is available as an option and is fitted to the headstock, allowing the rake to glide freely over any bumps.
Upon reaching the headland, the rake is lifted via the three-point linkage and moved into its centre position, offering enough clearance to prevent interference with previously formed swaths.
