Model enthusiast Kevin Finlay from Armagh is holding his model tractor and farm machinery auction in the Republic of Ireland at the Killeshin Hotel in Portlaoise on Saturday 26 April. So if you have surplus models or want to change some, or even to convert them to cash, this might be a useful day out as lots of bidders are expected.

The models will be available for viewing up until 11am on the day, when the auction will start.

There is no charge to enter a model into the auction. There will be a 15% commission paid by the buyer and the seller to fund the auction only on items sold with a cash settlement on sales during the day. Entry to the auction will cost €4 and that will include a catalogue and bidding number.

Kevin can be contacted at 0044-7742670023 or by email at bigtrucker123@hotmail.co.uk for details. He will have a full catalogue on the day, which is expected to run to more than 500 individual lots.

Kevin held a model auction in Armagh in December, where prices ranged from £105 for a Brian Norman 1:32 scale Fordson Dexta to £60 for a McCormick Farmall Franklin Mint model. All items will be accompanied by reasonable reserves.

Peter Keane, chairman of the Moone Classic and Vintage Club, reports that they are organising their fourth annual road run on Sunday 13 April to raise funds for Moone Celtic FC’s project to build new dressing rooms. Proceeds are also in aid of Moone senior citizens along with some other local projects. Over the past three years, they have raised in excess of €45,000.

Registration and refreshments will be provided from 12.30pm at Moone Hall and the road runs will start at 2pm. Vehicles will return to the Crookstown Inn where entertainment and refreshments will be provided followed by a charity auction in the Crookstown Inn.
