Buyers at Armoy on Monday evening were most active for lighter stores as improved weather in recent weeks has increased grass supplies. The number of continental stores on offer has increased and they fetched the best prices.

Two Charolais bullocks both weighing 305kg made £675 (£2.21/kg) and £700 (£2.30/kg). Similar sorts of heifers made slightly lower prices, with the hammer dropping at £515 for a 205kg Charolais (£2.06/kg).

A number of Belgian Blue steers around 580kg were on offer and typically made £350 over their weight (£1.60/kg). A Charolais bullock weighing 650kg made £1,075 (£1.65/kg) and a lighter Charolais weighing 610kg and made a slightly higher price of £1,085 (£1.78/kg).
