Months of hard work, planning and organising will come together on Sunday for the 35th Tullamore Show and FBD National Livestock Show. Ireland’s premier livestock event, Tullamore has established itself as one of the best one-day shows internationally. Its growing reputation for premium livestock sees visitors from across the globe travel to the event.
This year promises to be bigger and better than ever before, with record entries in various sections. Cattle numbers are up once again, with another bumper entry of commercial show cattle to keep the crowd enthralled.
Sheep numbers are on a par with the record-breaking entry in 2025, which surpassed all expectations. In this Focus, Cathal Gormley catches up with some pedigree and commercial cattle breeders exhibiting at this year’s show and what it means to them.
However, Tullamore is not just all about cattle and sheep; at the show you will find everything from a hen, to a needle and thread. The horticulture and farm produce section is arguably the best in the land, showcasing wonderful produce from across Ireland.
In the forestry section, all facets of Ireland’s rapidly developing farm forestry and renewable energy sectors will be on display.
Irish contemporary artist Claire Guinan, is the one in focus for this year’s event, showcasing some of her incredible works.
The dog section has become one of the liveliest and most enjoyable parts of the show in recent years, so if you’re there to compete, cheer on friends and family, or simply enjoy a great day out, make sure to stop by the dog rings at Blueball.
Don’t miss the poultry tent, one of the noisiest places in the showgrounds, where the beautiful feathered birds are a sight to behold.
