The twilight Texel sale in Carlisle on Friday night last topped at 4,400gns for a gimmer from Procters Farm Ltd.
This gimmer (PFD1302744) is a daughter of Scholars Twenty Twelve and her mother won reserve female champion at the Great Yorkshire Show this year.
She sold in-lamb to Tophill Union and was purchased by Messrs McCaffrey of Cheshire.
Other leading prices included the first gimmer shown by Messrs Knox of Haddo flock, which sold for 4,000gns.
A substitute gimmer entry from Messrs Quick of Loosebeare was knocked down for 3,000gns.
Christmas stars
The following day (Saturday) at the Christmas stars Texel sale was a gimmer from the Strathbogie flock (IJS1300278), which topped the sale at 14,000gns for Jim Innes.
This was a daughter of Scholars Twenty Twelve and out of a Glenside Razzle Dazzle sired mother.
She sold in-lamb to the 52,000gns Mullan Vivaldi and was knocked down to join the Deveronvale flock for Graham Morrison of Aberdeen.
Following that price was 9,000gns for first gimmer from the Cowl pen (CKC1303034) for Messrs Campbell.
