The Dealer often looked for divine intervention when in the seller’s box in marts especially when the trade is struggling.
That intervention could be closer than you think in Tullow Mart.
The Dealer did a double take last week when he saw Tullow Mart manager Eric Driver speaking from the pulpit in Carlow.
His usual pulpit is the rostrum in Tullow but he was recently commissioned as a diocesan reader in the Tullow group of parishes in Carlow.
I’m reliably informed that he won’t be making a full-time switch to the robes and will continue to do the best he can for both buyers and sellers on sale days in Tullow Mart.
Once he doesn’t forget himself and shout 100 bid, 120 bid as the collection plate is doing the rounds on Sunday mornings everything will be fine.
The Dealer wishes him the best of luck in his new role.
