I spotted a few unusual advertisements in our classifieds section in recent weeks.
One in particular caught the eye – Ballyjamesduff Mart, based in Co Cavan might I add, advertising a sale in Brosna, Co Kerry, just 260km down the road.
The sale on Saturday 27 February is being held on farm, 100% online, and includes 70 pedigree Holstein Friesian cows.
It’s not the first time Ballyjamesduff has ventured outside the county, having held a very successful dairy sale in Tipperary last month.
I’m sure the Kerry boys will be watching to see how the Cavan lads get on. I’m told auctioneer Tommy Harrison is currently taking lessons in Kerry brogue to fit in in the southwest.
