I see teenage show jumping sensation Bertram Allen, son of Bert Allen of Slaney Meats, is continuing his meteoric rise up the ranks of world show jumping.
Not only has this Wexford 19-year-old secured his place in the show jumping World Cup final in Las Vegas in April, he has beat seven former world No 1 riders, including show jumping legend Ludger Beerbaum and his own mentor Marcus Ehning, to win last Sunday’s World Cup qualifier in Bordeaux.
Allen now looks set to secure a top-10 place in the world show jumper rankings following his win in France.
