Few things represents summer more than when the sheep need to be shorn, however The Dealer has heard of a rather alternative use for the good old sheep shears.
Barber Paul McGann of The Master Barber Shop in Kildare Town has caused quite a stir in recent weeks by using the traditional sheep shears to cut men’s hair. He told The Dealer that the concept began a little over a year ago when a good friend of his presented him with an old sheep shears to hang up in the shop as a decoration.
When more friends joked that Paul wouldn’t be able to cut hair with sheep shears, he got a fresh pair, made some adjustments and has been cutting hair with the farming apparatus since.
McGann, a former farmer himself, has been a barber in the town for 33 years and running his own business for 21 years.
He told the dealer that recent attention has been insane, with his Instagram following now over 5,000 strong.
